Hey, I’m Paul
My name is Paul Goldberg and I take pretty good photos.
I am based in Seattle, WA where I spend most of my time adventuring around with my wife, petting dogs at breweries, attending concerts at the very last minute, and occasionally taking photos
I have been shooting film since mid 2024, first starting with an old Olympus Pen EE-3 half-frame camera and I fell in love.
I primarily shoot 6x4.5 medium format and 35 mm color film
-
I find most of my cameras on Ebay, Facebook Marketplace, Glazer’s Camera, Kenmore Camera, and Shot On Film store
Minolta X700
Mamiya RB67
Mamiya 645
various point and shoots:
Olympus Pen EE-3
Minolta AF-DL Zoom
Nikon Lite Touch Zoom 105
-
I still experiment with different film stocks from time to time, but the following are my favorites and what I primarily use
35 mm:
Kodak Gold 200
Kodak Ultramax 400
Cinestill 800T
Kodak TMax 400
120 mm:
Kodak Gold 200
Kodak Ektar 100
-
I mix my own developer and develop both color and b+w at home.
I have recently switched to Kodak 3-Part C41 kit as my color chemistry due to better cost at volume, but I previously used Cinestill C41 kit with good success
I do not develop b+w film very often, but I currently use Rodinal and Photographers Formulary archival fixer
Equipment:
Paterson tanks and reels
random Amazon dark bag
Cinestill accordion bottles for chemistry storage
Anova sous vide for temperature control
Food service tub for hot water bath and storage when not in use

Currently I scan all my film on an Epson V500 Photo scanner using Vuescan software. I do touch ups and final color balancing in Adobe Lightroom
I have experimented with Silverfast and struggled to get comfortable with a workflow that I enjoyed
I have just received a camera scanning kit from Essential Film Holder that I look forward to testing out. I will be using my Sony a6600 for and I plan on using Negative Lab Pro for conversions. I especially look forward to re-scanning my 35mm rolls because they come out a bit soft on my Epson scanner
